There is something about a new year that brings out the best in all of us, which is why we usually vow to better ourselves for the upcoming year. This is can also be applied to our relationships with each other. For all of the years your relationships did not work in the past take a seat and think about why. Here, I list out some very common issues that many people in relationships may want to, and should take into consideration for their new year resolutions.
Life is just so much more simplistic when you are telling the truth. Lying to your partner in a relationship only digs a bigger hole for oneself and causes more problems which result in more lies. If you have a history of lies in your relationship why not come clean and start a new. Your partner will respect you for being honest.
Don't over interpret something
Being a woman, this is something that we tend to do often. When things are going too smoothly we begin to create imaginary problems in our own minds. Just because he forgot to pick something up from the store does not mean your entire relationship is crumbling down. Instead of assuming the worst why not talk to your partner in a non accusatory tone. This is something that not only men will be happy not to see anymore, but women won't have so much to worry about.
Don't underestimate an issue
This is an act while this does occur with women, is often done by men. While women may seem to freak out about 'small issues', it does not mean that the issue at hand is not important. For example if your girl is upset about something that may seem miniscule to you, it does not mean it is not worth your time. Being in a relationship is about thinking about someone other than your self sometimes; and go by the rule that if she is upset see what you can do to make her feel better.
This may seem like a no brainer, however it is something that many people forget to do. They get so caught up in trying to become the person that their mate wants them to be, they lose sight of themselves, and ultimately this leads to unhappiness. If you are not compatible with someone, keep it moving. Don't waste your time trying to be someone you are not.
Give it your all
There is no point in being in a relationship if you are not willing to give it your absolute best. While a relationship can be so rewarding, it is hard work and requires lots of patience. If you are willing to put in all of the work and not just do it half way, you are sure to reap the benefits of a loving relationship.
With a new year comes extraordinary possibilities especially in your love life. If you are tired of making the same mistakes over and over again, now is your time to say enough is enough and put your best foot forward towards a happier and healthier relationship. J
